Dominican Republic Airport Information
Entry Requirements – Click Here
The Dominican Republic is large enough to offer five main airports for international flights. It is advisable to arrange your flight for an airport convenient to where you are going to be staying on the island.
Cross island transportation, via buses or taxis is available should you need it, however, it can be expensive or, especially in the case of buses, many hours of extra, unneeded travel time.
If you will be staying at several areas around the island then domestic flights may be a good way to go. In that case, be sure to look into having your initial international arrival into the Dominican Republic be to your first destination and your departure from an airport in the area you finish up in.
Airport: Las Americas International Airport (SDQ)
Location: About 20 miles outside Santo Domingo
Area: South / Southeast
This airport is the main one for the D.R. and also acts as a jumping off point for many other Caribbean destinations.
